Natick High Wins Four of Five at Newburgh, NY Dual Tournament; Atwood Finishes 5-0

Newburgh, NY - The Natick High School Wrestling team won four of their five matches en route to 4-1 overall record at the Newburgh, NY Dual Meet Tournament on Saturday 1/28/17. At the close of the day's events, the Redhawks improve their overall season record to 21-2.The Redhawks defeated Port-Jervis (NY) 55-27, Warwick (NY) 54-26, Valley-Central (NY) 53-25, and Newburgh (NY) 49-24. The only loss of the day for the Redhawks came at the hands of Wallkill (NY) by a final score of 36-30. Josh Atwood led the Redhawks with a perfect 5-0 record, while Jeff Marsh, Jacob Opella, Ben Steenkamp, Jeremy Su, Alan Smith, Tim Ramstrom, and Matt Gastaldo all posted 4 wins on the day. The Redhawks are back in action this Wednesday night for Senior Day against Bay State Conference rival, Milton, before traveling to North Andover High School on Saturday February 4, 2017 for the 2017 Division II Dual Meet State Championships.
