Mission Accomplished by James Smith Saturday, March 3rd, 2012
James Smith wins the 138 lbs. title at the New England Wrestling Championships this past Saturday in Providence RI.
James defeated the defending champ, Brandon Walsh, from Griswald Ct in the semi finals in possibly the tournament's most exciting match. Smith secured a takedown on the edge of the mat as time expired to win 5-4 and advance to the finals.
In the finals Smith defeated highly regarded and undefeated Dan DelGallo (Gardiner Area-ME) 15-9 to claim the title.

Natick has an outstanding performance at All States finishing second to Methuen in team scoring. Sunday, February 26th, 2012
Natick led the entire state with 8 qualifiers, but brought 7 due to an injury to one of their qualifiers.
All seven wrestlers won matches and 4 placed and qualified for next weekends NE Championships.
Senior Everett Wenzlaff and Junior Ethan Ziegler each won one match but were eliminated.
Junior Kevin Christie finished in the final 8, one round away from placing.
Junior Alexe Restivo-Lage placed 6th.
Junior Mariano - Restivo-Lage had the tournament of his life. After placing 2nd in the sectionals and 3rd at the D2 states he placed an eye opening 3rd at All States. After winning his first round match Restivo-Lage squared off against one of the states top wrestlers, Framingham's Robert Coukos. Down 3-1 in the 3rd, Lage reversed and pinned Coukos to advance to the semi finals. In the semi's Mariano lost to top seed and eventual champion Ryan Niven. However he bounced back with 9-0 decision in the consi semi finals and a come from behind pin again in the consolation finals to take 3rd.
The 132 lbs wight class is ragarded by most as the deepest and talented weight class in MA. Thomas, a 4x state place finisher , barely qualified for AS placing 5th at the Division II States. In the first round Thomas faced the Division III State Champion and OW, Seamus Wolfe. Thomas majored Wolfe 11-3. In the quarter finals Thomas faced Framingham's Gil Sa, who beat Thomas decisively a few weeks ago. Thomas won in a 4th overtime. Thomas had a hard fought 4-0 loss to Dracut's Stewart. He them faced Belmont's Sami Baghdaddy. A wrestler he has lost to 6 times throughout his career. Thomas pulled out another overtime win to advance to the consolation finals. In the consi-final Thomas won his 3rd overtime match by beating Tamaradze, Abbas of Hampton Charter 6-4.
James Smith avenged his only loss of the season in the semi finals when he defeated Springfield Central's, Jonathan Viruet 6-4. In the finals Smith faced North Andover's phenom, Fritz Hoehn. Winning 5-1 in the 3rd, Hoehn battled back and tied the match late in the 3rd period. Smith escaped and won 7-6 to capture his second All State Championship.

The Red & Blue now look ahead to the All-State Tournament on Feb. 24-25 at Salem High School, where they will have 7 wrestlers in the mix.
Red & Blue Handed First Defeat of Season Tuesday, February 21st, 2012
Natick took on defending champion North Andover in the Division 2 semifinals of the State Dual Meet Tournament. It was a rematch from last year's final where North Andover won 32-25. North Andover got out to a quick start, with Natick falling 47-18 at the Tsongas Center.
In Coach Anniballi's words "We’re very good, we’re one of the best teams in the state, but that was a tough matchup for us. Overall, I’m very happy, these kids had a great season and they should be proud of getting to an opportunity to go for a state title at the end of the year."
The Red & Blue now look ahead to the All-State Tournament on Feb. 24-25 at Salem High School, where they will have 7 wrestlers in the mix.
Incredible Finish for the Red & Blue Thursday, February 2nd, 2012
In what could have been one of the best rivalry matches between Natick and Framingham, Natick held on to beat the Framingham Flyers, 33-31 and finish their regular season at a perfect 21-0. It all came down to the final match, with Natick's Ethan Ziegler avoiding a pin to secure the victory for the Red & Blue.
In the last match in Carey Gymnasium, Natick remained unbeaten as they enter a new High School next Fall. One of the most incredible stats is the fact that the last time Natick lost a home match was in January of 2001. Click Here to view an article with more details on the matchup.
Natick Wrestling Racks up 3 More Victories Saturday, January 28th, 2012
Natick Wrestling moved to an impressive 20-0 after defeating Dedham 50-6, Braintree 53-18, and Brookline 35-21 on Saturday in a quad-meet. This comes after also winning their matchup on Wednesday versus Needham, 55-15.
All eyes now focus on Natick's big showdown with Framingham High School. The matchup takes place on Wednesday evening (7PM) at Natick High School. Go out and support your Red & Blue against their biggest rival!

Natick Wrestling moved to 17-0 after defeating Needham 55-15 on Wednesday evening.

Natick Wrestling defeated Central Catholic (W 48-25), Masconomet (W 60-23), and Peabody (W 54-6) to improve to 15-0. On Wednesday, Natick also beat Walpole (W 53-9) as they now get ready to host Braintree, Brookline & Dedham on Saturday, January 28th at 10:00 AM.

Natick wins Milford Invitational, while crowning 7 Champions. Zach Thomas won his 4th Milford Title and James Smith was voted Outstanding Wrestler.
Natick will travel to Whitman Hansen on Tuesday and will host Wellesley on Wednesday .
